ABOUT ME
My journey
Today I am a Davis certified facilitator and advocate for Neurodiverse learners but over 25 years ago, my journey with Davis began with a deeply personal motivation, helping a family member who was struggling in school. Although bright, articulate, hard working and full of imagination, they faced constant challenges in a traditional classroom. In an effort to help I followed the school approved program Alpha to Omega every evening in addition to homework. The lack of success we experienced taught each of us something. I learned to be frustrated, and impatient and the child learned to believe that they could not learn. Everything changed when I found the alternative, Davis. Suddenly spellings began to stick, confidence became elevated and within months I was no longer required for homework, I had an independent learner, much to my delight.
This success prompted my exploration in this revolutionary multi sensory approach. Over the following years, I trained extensively in England, France and the USA as each new program was rolled out. I was the second person licensed to provide Davis Dyslexia+ programs in Ireland and am the first providing the Autism+ and Concepts for life programs in this country. Over those years I have worked with students from pre-primary through secondary and third level. I have worked in schools and in adult education settings and for many years provided Department of Education approved Summer Courses for Primary teachers struggling to meet the needs of the student that phonic techniques did not seem to reach.
My focus is to help both client and also the family support person of every client. To have them understand that I too suffered the frustration and worry of watching an intelligent child struggle. My task is to have parents learn that the solution lies not in working harder or longer, as the child is already working harder and longer than their peers. The solution lies in working differently, in recognising the strength of this mind and harnessing that strength to master literacy and numeracy.
Who I Work With
I work with neurodiverse individuals with or without labels, of all ages -children, teens and adults-who learn and experience the world differently from their peers. My role is to provide insights to both client and family as to the root cause of the gifts and the challenges of these neurodiverse individuals, and to show them how to transform their learning and lives with proven strength-based tools and effective learning strategies.
My clients include those with:
- Dyslexia
- ADHD / ADD
- Autism
- Executive functioning
- Or simply those struggling with focus, organisation, or confidence
I look beyond labels. Instead, I focus on each person's unique thinking style and provide them with a pathway to reach their potential. I also specialize in the prevention of learning difficulties in young learners who are confused and unhappy in school but have no diagnosis, as yet.
Why Davis?
Davis programs make a positive and lasting difference by removing frustration, overwhelm and failure and replacing those with certainty, confidence and unlocked potential, which provides for learning progress previously considered impossible. This approach works by aligning with how neurodiverse thinkers naturally process information. It’s not about drilling or memorisation—it’s about clarity, self-understanding, and lasting tools for learning and independence.
For clients with dyslexia:
I remove the fear and frustration often tied to reading and writing. Using their innate strengths, I help clients connect with words and language in a way that feels natural—often for the first time.
For autistic clients:
During this program I focus on building understanding, meaningful connections, and comfort in navigating and integrating with the world—on their terms.
For individuals facing life challenges:
I support those who may not have a formal diagnosis but are seeking to understand their own struggles with life generally, and who wish to build resilience, confidence, and self-awareness in life.
My Approach
I believe everyone can learn—when they are met with respect, empathy, and the right tools for learning.
Many of my clients come to me after years of feeling misunderstood or left behind. Together, we work to remove the emotional weight of past learning experiences and build a path forward grounded in clarity and confidence.
